Jeff TANG
Jeff TANG is currently a master student in Dept. of Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He has been working under the supervision of Prof.Tseng, Director of the Advanced Manufacturing Institute (AMI, http://ami.ust.hk), since August 2009.
Before studying in HK, Mr.TANG received his BEng degree in Automation from Zhejiang University (ZJU) in China while was awarded Chu Kochen Fellowship which is the highest honor for undergraduates in ZJU.
His current research mainly focus on the economic issues of mass customization (MC), trying to answer that how to evaluate economic return on investment of MC projects and that how to make them profitable. To start this research, he adopted customized housing industry as the research object.
Moreover, he is planning to write his master thesis on this topic and accomplish it before the end of 2009 and then start his PhD study, still in AMI. Has long been interested in consulting and industrial management, he expects to start his career in manufacturing industry or professional service sector after his PhD study.
