The University of Art and Design Helsinki is an international university specialising in design, audiovisual communication, art education and art. Established in 1871, it is the largest art and design university in the Nordic countries.
Jarmo I. Suominen is a Professor of Mass Customization at the University of Art and Design. Since 1999 he has been working at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston as a visiting scientist at the School of Architecture and Planning.
Kristian Möller is a Research Professor and Director of the Service Factory at the Helsinki School of Economics at Aalto University.
TKK is the leading university of technology in Finland. The university has 12 departments with over 12,000 students studying to become engineers, architects and landscape architects.
Turkka Keinonen, Doctor of Arts, works as a professor of industrial design and vice dean for research at University of Art and Design Helsinki (UIAH), School of Design.
Kalevi Ekman holds the Chair of Machine Design at the Department of Engineering Design and Production at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Helsinki University of Technology (TKK).
Marko Mäkipää M.Sc. is a senior researcher at the Center for Research on Information, Customer, and Innovation Management (CIRCMI) and a Ph.D. student in Information Systems Science at the University of Tampere.
Frank Piller is a Chair Professor of Management at the Technology & Innovation Management Group of RWTH Aachen University, Germany, one of Europe’s leading institutes of technology.

It provides the most diverse environment for world-class study and research in business subjects and an innovative community of approximately 4,500 students and over 400 researchers, teachers and service staff.
Dr. Tseng is Chair Professor of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He also serves as Director of the Advanced Manufacturing Institute (AMI) and Zhejiang Advanced Manufacturing Institute (ZAMI) of HKUST.
Matti Sievänen Ph.D. works as a Senior Researcher at Cost Management Center (CMC).
DSc (Econ). Mikko Ruohonen is the Professor of Business Administration & Information Systems at the University of Tampere.
Ph.D (communication) Maija Töyry is Professor of Magazine Journalism at the University of Art and Design Helsinki. She is Chairman of the Board of Media Factory.
Reijo Tuokko has been a Professor at Tampere University of Technology since 1990. Before his professorship he worked for 12 years in responsible positions in industry and for four years as Acting Associate Professor in Machine Automation in Lappeenranta and Tampere. Prof. Tuokko has 30 years experience in discrete manufacturing and production automation.

The MIT Mass Customization Interest Group is an MIT-Industry collaboration devoted to improving the ability of companies to efficiently customize products and services in various industries and for diverse customer groups.
